Almost every year, when we sit down at the blending table to taste through each of the barrels, we come across something that stands out in a completely unique way. Sometimes it’s a distinctive parcel, sometimes its a sampling so tightly coiled that we are compelled to allow the wine to rest and evolve for an additional year in barrel. This has been the case since our very first vintage. We go on to produce a small cuvee from these wines, which has now become part of the ongoing Gold Series.
